Getting rid of Google Adsense Smart Pricing |
Don't ask me why I haven't implemented startegies discussed here on this website. Adsense is NOT my busniess model. Agreed it's, easy money but I find it tedious and time consuming to drive FREE traffic. I prefer PPC to promote affiliate products.
Those who are not willing to spend much money and have a lot of time to spend on internet to drive Web 2.0 traffic have tried things below with my help. I teach my friends how to generate a steady flow of $250 to $400 per month within 4 months with 50-80 hours of total effort. (So far it worked for everybody) - after that they could duplicate the same) Things mentioned here are PURELY BASED on our observations and experimentation.
Smart pricing concept is complex. Things mentioned are are speculations and may not be the Facts. Try it at your own risk and BLAME ME if it doesn't work. Allow 1-2 weeks to see the results.
Let me make clear at the very outset - Like most of us, I do believe that CONVERSION has great role in smart pricing. Sites receiving lots of clicks and not getting converted get smart priced badly. But that's not under our control so I'm discussing things that that are under our control.
I'm writing off the top of my head and will keep on updating this article as I remeber.
I assume:
(1) You've already matched domain/page name to the niche/theme of your website. (That's not essential although many 'Adsense Experts' say so. I've seen a few domains matching to theme making less than a cent per click and some random names doing pretty good. )
What matters is niche and keyword that triggered the ads.
Still we'll stick to the matching domain name and pages from SEO perspective
(2) You know how to blend ads into your website and right places to put ads. (Hot - Spots)
(3) You know how to generate traffic.
Are you still with me? Here are some things we tried and think worked.
- Make Your Site Look Authentic - Add Privacy Policy, Contact Us/ About Us Pages, Disclaimer etc.
- It seems Google pays more per click for the same ads hosted on domains registered atleasr a year before. If you have some old domain - find a good niche and dump pages with Adsense ads.
- Use Google Keyword tool to pool keywords.
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal Choose keywords where Advertiser Competition is more. Build pages around those keywords. Content is NOT the king. "Keywords" are the kings. Use synonyms and theme related keywords. - Put some review pages / product specific pages. Adsense pays more for review pages / product specific pages.
- Add 4-5 pages with different content related to the same niche in same directory.
- Search engines punish duplicate content. Not adsense - As long as you could drive traffic to your website
through lists / Web 2.0, you could use any keyword rich articles from article directories. - Remove pages having no/less visitors. If page is not visited often, Google tends to serve ads by the "theme" of your website I mean if your website is getting more visitors/clicks for keyword "computer games" - Even though your webpage is related to Web Hosting" you'll be served ads related to 'computer games'.
- Pagerank - I don't belive pay per click is based on pagerank. I've many pages with pagerank 5 that pay 3-5 cents per click while my friends have pages with NO SEARCH ENGINE presence / no external links making 50 cents to $1.5 per click.
- Do not put any links/forms above and below 4-5 lines of Adsense code in content. (It's OK if it appears "Visually" close to adsense ads but in backend you take care)
- Section targeting is just a HINT. Adsense may consider / ignore it. But do that. Don't try to put un-related keywords (or Menus) on top of the page. It hurts.
- Add links to 3-4 AUTHENTIC sites (with good pagerank and relevant to the topic)
