Using Blog Comments As Content
Have any of you tried to use second grade content as comments on your own blogs?
It would seem pretty easy to tenfold the amount of total content on your blogs like this, plus it would be easy to automatically add new comments every day if you had a ok source for unique content.
You could also link from it where it matches specific keywords or just make it appear like “Credit Cards” made a comment and link from the name.
First you need a way to generate or scrape content that hasn’t been indexed yet(you have to figure out where to get this yourself). Then you add it to your blog by passing it off as comments to multiply the total amount of content and to stuff in some extra keywords. You could also “borrow” the content from anywhere and put it in a iframe(robots.txt disallowed file) or in a picture on the top of your page, then use the comments to rank.
Having a script that add these comments to your blogs every day would also give search engines the impression that they are being updated every day.
I like the idea … simple and effective.
Although, in the search engine’s eyes, there’s probably not much difference between this and just posting more content. If you end up doing it, I’d like to hear how it goes.
I do like this method, it seems that descriptions in search results would be
A> keyword oriented &
B> short enough to look like an actual comment.
I’ve never tried this but it seems that it would work relatively well as far as on-topic comments. Not really sure the value of this for SERPs though. It will make the bots continue to come in a hurry (especially if you ping after each comment) but am having trouble seeing how this really helps your rankings.
There is the fact that google tends to rank new content high then lowers rankings for a period, perhaps this will make it appear fresh for a longer period of time .. time to start testing
